GA4-240202501-AA1-EV03 (Critical Thinking and Media Literacy) ANDRES DIAZ CORONADO
I believe that critical thinking and media literacy are essential skills for everyone, especially in the digital age we live in. Every day, we are exposed to a huge amount of information through social media, news outlets, videos, and articles—and many times, that information can be false, biased, or have hidden intentions.
Critical thinking allows me to pause and analyze what I read or hear, to look for different perspectives, and to avoid accepting everything as absolute truth. It’s a way to protect myself from misinformation and to form stronger, well-informed opinions.
Media literacy, on the other hand, helps me understand how media works, how messages are constructed, and what impact they have on people. It helps me see beyond what is being said and question why it is being presented in a certain way.
In my opinion, developing these skills not only supports my learning of the English language, but also prepares me to be a more conscious, critical, and responsible person in today’s society.
